Tom's respite is the bathtub. The designer/actor/filmmaker/activist sometimes takes up to four baths per day, laying meditatively and letting his thoughts wander.
An icon in the fashion industry, Tom Ford singlehanded transformed Gucci into the pre-eminent luxury brand in the world during his fourteen years there from 1990 to 2004.
"In eyewear, it is the small detailing that expresses the luxury. Custom crafted hinges, unusual color mélanges, or simply the look of empty space around the lenses - these are what make accessories into precious objects," he says. The empty space around the lens is a hallmark of Tom Ford design from Gucci through his own eponymous collections now.
